CPA Ontario is currently in search of a Director, IT Security Operations who will work in partnership with the Chief Information Security Officer leading and implementing cybersecurity initiatives, enhancing the overall cyber program and strengthening the organization’s security posture. In this role you will oversee the full SecOps pillar while utilizing your hands on technical expertise in threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, controls implementation, vendor due diligence and secure system architecture. This position also requires a wide range of cyber disciplines, technology stack and delivery, a collaborative approach with stakeholders and strong leadership capability to effectively manage a team and ensure robust cybersecurity practices are in place.
What You’ll Be Doing
Overseeing and leading all SecOps activities implementing and maintaining security controls across multiple systems.
Performing a key role in developing cybersecurity playbooks and incident response processes. Producing and tracking reporting schemas, KPIs and KRIs for senior management.
Conducting vulnerability assessments and prioritization of incident response processes.
Providing guidance, mentoring and coaching to the IT Security team while also driving activities such as purple team exercises to test prevention, detection and response capabilities as a means of continuous improvement.
Supporting strategic initiatives and partnering with the Chief Information Security Officer, CIO and other stakeholders in driving and executing cybersecurity initiatives and strategies.
Who You Are
A post-secondary graduate preferably in information security, computer science, digital forensics or a related field with a minimum 7 years of experience in the cybersecurity sector. CISSP and other professional IT security certifications such as GCIA, GCIH, OSCP or CWAT are preferred.
Highly adaptable with proven hands-on experience in implementing cybersecurity technologies and controls.
A supportive and hands-on leader with 4 or more years of people leadership experience, building high performing teams in a highly collaborative cross-functional environment.
An excellent communicator (verbal and written) with strong presentation, interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Able to serve as a conduit between senior leadership and a highly technical security team with ease.
Knowledgeable in varying cyber frameworks including NIST, CIS, PCI-DSS and MITRE.
An expert at varying cybersecurity stack, and, ideally experienced with Microsoft E5 security stack.
Flexible working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment where work outside of regular business hours may be required.
