Position Overview
We are seeking a practical, experienced Director of IT to oversee and support our day-to-day technology operations. This role is well-suited to someone who enjoys balancing leadership with hands-on involvement, supporting both systems and people in a steady, operations-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily IT operations, ensuring systems are stable, secure, and well-supported
- Manage and support internal business systems, including a proprietary reservation platform and CRM tools
- Supervise and collaborate with a full stack developer on system maintenance, enhancements, and issue resolution
- Provide technical guidance and hands-on support for application development, integrations, or debugging when needed
- Manage and optimize contact center and telephony systems
- Administer and support reporting tools, including Power BI, ensuring accurate and accessible business insights
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for system support and issue resolution
- Ensure data security, backups, and basic compliance practices are in place and maintained
- Identify and implement practical improvements to existing systems and workflows
- Manage IT licensing and vendor contracts
- Provide guidance and support to internal users across departments
Qualifications
- 7-10+ years of IT experience, along with leadership or management experience
- Experience supporting business-critical systems in a small or mid-sized organization
- Proven ability to work with database schemas and develop effective SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data.
- Prior experience working with or overseeing software developers
- Working knowledge of full stack development concepts in a cloud-hosted AWS environment (e.g., web applications, APIs, databases)
- Ability to review code, troubleshoot issues, and contribute at a high level when needed
- Familiarity with CRM platforms, telephony/contact center systems, and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach
- Experience working with vendors and managing external IT support
- Understanding of basic cybersecurity, backups, and system reliability practices
- Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical staff and leadership
