About the Role:
This position is responsible for the maintenance, security, monitoring, and continuous development of the Gas SCADA system and related hardware, while also supporting new pipeline and system initiatives at the project level. The role ensures reliable performance of critical operational systems within a high-availability OT environment and contributes to system upgrades and ongoing improvements to support stable and efficient operations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support for the maintenance and enhancement of the SCADA system platform.
- Troubleshoot, resolve, and document problems encountered with the SCADA system platform.
- Test and install patches and hotfixes to the SCADA system platform.
- Work closely with the SCADA system vendor as required.
- Install and administrate both physical and virtual machines in a Windows environment, including domain joined and non-domain joined machines.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, including servers, workstations, and operator consoles.
- Configure and maintain supporting systems, such as Veeam backup, SQL Server database, and WSUS patching.
- Ensure regulatory compliance by adhering to processes and completing necessary documentation.
- Contribute to the development of process and procedure documentation.
- Collaborate and coordinate efforts within multi-disciplinary teams.
Education & Experience:
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering Technology, Network Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education, certifications, and experience will be considered.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a degree, diploma, or certification in one of the above disciplines.
- 5 to 7 plus years of working knowledge and hands-on experience supporting Honeywell Experion systems and Dynamo (alarm management).
- Experience providing both system-level and operational support, including system restarts, failover procedures, patching, database configuration, display development, and deployment of system changes.
- Demonstrated experience supporting SCADA/OT environments, with exposure to high availability infrastructure and progressively increasing technical responsibility.
- Experience supporting control centre and midstream operations environments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft environments, including Windows 10/11 and Windows Server 2016+, VMware, Active Directory, Group Policy Management, SQL Server (SSMS), and WSUS patching (asset).
- Working knowledge of RTU, PLC, and end-device communication protocols.
