and Job Summary:
AYS Technologies Canada Inc. is seeking a CCTV & Cable Installer, with some IT Support experience preferred, related to CCTV camera system installations, VOIP phone service installations, network voice and data cabling, and IT workstation setup and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will also have expertise in Cybersecurity and Office 365 administration. If you have field experience and technical installation skills, we encourage you to apply.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install and configure CCTV surveillance camera systems, including wiring, positioning, and system integration.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot VOIP phone systems,
- Attend client premises for necessary installations and repairs.
- Perform structured cabling installations for voice, data, and security systems.
- Set up and configure IT workstations, peripherals, and basic network devices on-site.
- Perform reviews, updates & monitoring of various Cyber Security tools on clients systems
- Conduct hands-on repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance of installed hardware and network components.
- Respond to client tickets and requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Update/Close tickets on the system with explanations and time entries.
- Ensure necessary tools are available to perform the jobs (e.g., USB recovery tools, hardware installation tools).
- Maintain and replenish supplies periodically in preparation for the next day (e.g., patch cables, jacks, spare switches, power bars).
- Maintain excellent relationships with customers.
- Continuous self-learning and research to solve issues more effectively.
- Explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
- Maintain accurate documentation of support tasks and solutions.
- Ensure timely follow-ups to confirm issue resolution and client satisfaction.
- Other tasks or duties as assigned by Management.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Use of basic hand tools (e.g., drill, screwdrivers).
- Ability and willingness to work safely on ladders and lifts.
- Hands-on experience with installation of network wiring, CCTV cameras, and WiFi access points.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Good command of the English language, ability to communicate clearly both written and oral.
- Valid G Driver's License and a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of Windows OS, installing Windows, troubleshooting issues.
- Setting up users on Windows in both workgroup and domain environments.
- Troubleshoot issues with internet connectivity and computer performance.
- Add users to Office 365, reset passwords, and set up 2-Factor Authentication.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Eager to learn and grow.
- Polite and personable with clients.
- Self-guided learning; seeks resources to fill knowledge gaps independently.
- Good listener and ability to follow instructions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in on-site CCTV, VOIP phone system installations, structured cabling, or IT workstation setup.
- Strong hands-on experience with network voice and data cabling.
- Experience with hardware installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or Google Cloud Certification (preferred but not required).
- Willingness to learn IT support, network troubleshooting, and cloud-based services.
- Full time continous access to a well maintained vehicle (must own your own vehicle. Mileage reimbursed)
- Space for a Home Office (Computer equipment supplied) with a wired connection for VoiP phone
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk.
- Regularly work with basic hand tools and climb ladders.
- Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working on ladders and lifts for networking and cabling installations.
- Willingness to travel to client sites across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) as required.
