Position Summary
Responsibilities will include configuring and optimizing network hardware and software, ensuring network security, and troubleshooting connectivity issues to support seamless communication and data exchange. Additionally, will collaborate with the IT team, implement cybersecurity measures, and stay updated on emerging technologies to enhance the reliability and efficiency of our network operations within the industry.
Location: 6767 Davand Drive, Mississauga, This is currently a hybrid role
Schedule: Typical work week with afterhours/weekends need for on-call rotation, upgrades, update and support, Some travel may be required. Therefore Driver's license and vehicle is require, for the ability to travel locally to supported sites.
What You Will Do
Perform tactical duties related to operations including but not limited to:
- Supporting networks across all sites, routing, switching and wireless.
- Assist in designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
- Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, switches, security appliances and WAN, DNS and DHCP
- Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation
- Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
- Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
- Arranging scheduled upgrades
- Investigating faults in the network, working with team, plan and/or implement to resolve faults
- Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases, keeping systems up to date with supportable and stable releases.
- Reporting network status, stability and treads to key stakeholders
- Other duties and tasks, as well as involvement with other IT projects, as required and assigned
What You’ll Bring
- Working experience and strong technical knowledge in of multi-site networking environments both on premises and cloud services
- Working experience Routing, Switching, Firewalls, DNS, DCHP, IP Management and Load balancers
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills.
- Post-secondary school education with information technology related certifications, diploma and/or degree
- Minimum of three (3) years working related experience in a medium to large environment. IT support in the supply chain, logistics, and/or transportation industry an asset.
- Ability to work in a team environment, with strong emphasis on following procedures, sharing best practices and documentation creation and upkeep
- Good to Have: Industry certifications at the network and/or security intermediate level.
- Must have a valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle
