Position: ENTERPRISE & OPERATIONAL SYSTEMS ANALYST
We are seeking an Enterprise & Operational Systems Analyst to act as a key bridge between Operations, Engineering, Finance, and IT.
This role is responsible for improving workflows, data quality, and system integration across critical platforms including IBM Maximo, FDC (ERASOFT), historian systems (e.g., ParcView/DataPARC), Qbyte, Boomi integrations, and Power BI, along with other enterprise and operational applications.
This is a hands-on role focused on:
- Reducing reliance on external vendors
- Improving system reliability and data integrity
- Ensuring operational and financial data flows correctly across the organization
This role is critical to ensuring that operational and financial systems—including Maximo, FDC, historian platforms, Qbyte, and integrated applications—are aligned, reliable, and delivering accurate data to the business.
The successful candidate will reduce vendor dependency, improve system integration, and strengthen data quality across the organization’s core operational and financial platforms.
Location: Calgary HQ (occasional travel to Hangingstone site; support during planned cutovers as required)
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the SENIOR IT MANAGER
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
Business Analysis & Process Improvement
- Gather and document requirements from Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and Finance
- Analyze workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, data quality, and system usage
- Translate business needs into system improvements, reporting, integrations, or automation
Operational Systems Support
- Support and improve enterprise and operational systems, including:
- IBM Maximo
- FDC / ERASOFT
- Historian platforms (ParcView, DataPARC, etc.)
- Qbyte (financial and production accounting systems)
- Power BI dashboards and reporting
- Other enterprise and operational applications
- Actively troubleshoot system, integration, and data flow issues across platforms (not limited to documentation or coordination)
- Support system stability, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives
Integration & Data Flow Management
- Support and troubleshoot integrations between systems using platforms such as Boomi, APIs, and data pipelines
- Validate end-to-end data flow between operational systems, enterprise applications, and reporting platforms
- Work with IT teams and vendors to resolve integration issues and data inconsistencies
Data Quality & Governance
- Validate operational and financial data integrity across systems (including Qbyte and reporting platforms)
- Assist in defining data ownership, governance, and validation standards
- Work with business teams to improve consistency in data entry and system usage
Reporting & Analytics
- Develop, validate, and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports
- Ensure reporting reflects accurate and trusted operational and financial data
- Support ongoing BI, data platform, and integration initiatives
Cross-Team Coordination
- Partner with IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and enterprise applications teams
- Coordinate with vendors and consultants during system deployments, integrations, or issue resolution
- Document workflows, system behavior, integrations, and operational processes for continuity
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILL SET:
- 5+ years of experience in Systems Analysis, Business Analysis, or Operational Systems support
- Experience working with enterprise systems and understanding how data flows between systems (integrations, APIs, or middleware such as Boomi preferred)
- Strong understanding of business workflows and operational and financial data flows
- Experience troubleshooting system, integration, or data-related issues across multiple platforms
- Strong documentation, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work across both technical teams and business stakeholders
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with IBM Maximo
- Exposure to FDC systems (ERASOFT) or similar operational optimization platforms
- Experience with historian systems (ParcView, DataPARC, PI, etc.)
- Experience with Qbyte or similar financial/production accounting systems
- Databricks, Power BI or data analytics experience
- Basic SQL or data analysis skills
- Experience in oil & gas, industrial operations, or SAGD environments
- Experience with integration platforms such as Boomi
