Engagement Type
This is an independent contractor opportunity, not an employment position and it is a commission based not an hourly salary. The successful candidate will operate independently and will be responsible for their own taxes, remittances, insurance, tools, and business expenses, subject to the written contractor agreement. Canadian worker classification depends on the actual relationship, including control, tools, chance of profit, and risk of loss, so this role is structured around results and commercial outcomes rather than employee-style supervision
Role Summary
The contractor will identify and develop new business opportunities for Secur-IT Data Solutions’ managed cybersecurity offerings, including email security, endpoint security, firewall-related managed services, advisory services, and other recurring security solutions. This role is best suited to a self-directed sales professional with MSSP, MSP, cybersecurity, or related B2B technology services experience who can create new pipeline from scratch and contribute to closing business.
Responsibilities
·Prospect and qualify net-new clients in Ontario and across Canada using outbound outreach, networking, referrals, partnerships, events, and other lawful sales methods selected by the contractor.
·Build and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities for recurring cybersecurity and managed services revenue.
·Conduct discovery meetings with decision-makers and identify technical, operational, compliance, and business pain points.
·Coordinate with company leadership and technical resources to help position services, support proposals, and move qualified opportunities toward close.
·Maintain accurate notes, opportunity records, and activity updates in the company’s approved tracking process.
·Comply with all applicable legal and compliance requirements, including privacy and anti-spam rules relevant to business development activity.
Ideal Background
·Proven track record in MSSP, MSP, cybersecurity, IT services, or B2B technology sales.
·Strong pipeline creation skills, including cold outreach and consultative qualification.
·Ability to speak credibly with business owners, operations leaders, IT managers, and security stakeholders.
·Experience selling recurring revenue services and supporting multi-step B2B sales cycles.
·High degree of professionalism, initiative, and accountability.
Compensation
·Commission-only compensation.
·Commission is paid once per qualifying client only and does not continue for renewals, additional months beyond the defined commission period, extensions, or future upsells unless expressly agreed in writing.
·Commission becomes payable only after required contract, service commencement, invoicing, and client payment conditions have been met under the contractor agreement.
Initial Term
The initial term is three months and may be extended by mutual written agreement based on performance, client wins, and business needs. No minimum compensation, minimum deal flow, or guaranteed renewal is offered.
