Job Title: IT Site Lead

Our client, a major producer/manufacturer is searching for 3 Site Leads. All these roles are in office 5 days per week. 3 separate locations in B.C., Quebec, and Ontario.
The IT Site Lead serves as the primary technology leader at the plant level, ensuring the reliable operation, security, and continuous improvement of all IT systems, infrastructure, and digital initiatives. Acting as the key liaison between plant operations and enterprise IT, this role aligns business priorities with technology capabilities and supports both day-to-day operations and long-term digital transformation.
The IT Site Lead will be the face of IT at the plant, partnering closely with site leadership (including the General Manager), operations teams, and corporate IT functions. The role ensures effective IT-OT integration, supports enterprise programs, and drives technology initiatives that enhance operational excellence, safety, manufacturing efficiency, and innovation.
This position requires strong relationship-building, strategic thinking, and technology advisory skills, along with the ability to translate operational needs into IT requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic IT Leadership
- Serve as the primary IT point of contact for the assigned plant(s), bridging enterprise IT strategy with operational execution.

Build strong partnerships with plant leadership and business stakeholders to understand priorities and align technology initiatives.

Represent IT in plant leadership meetings, safety meetings, and capital planning discussions.

Participate in long-term plant strategy, operational excellence (OPEX) planning, and digital transformation initiatives.
Business Partnership & Technology Advisory
- Act as a strategic advisor to business leaders on technology opportunities and solutions.

Translate business requirements into actionable IT initiatives and advocate for business priorities with enterprise IT teams.

Conduct business analysis, requirements gathering, and cost-benefit analysis for technology investments.

Manage expectations, priorities, and communications between business stakeholders and IT teams.
IT Operations Management
- Ensure the reliability, availability, and security of all on-site IT infrastructure, applications, and end-user services.

Oversee the local IT environment, including PCs, printers, networking, HMIs, and plant connectivity.

Coordinate with corporate IT and external vendors on system upgrades, lifecycle management, patching, and support.

Manage local technical resources, potentially including 1-3 direct reports and third-party support providers.
IT/OT Integration & Manufacturing Support
- Provide oversight of plant technology systems including GE Proficy, OSI PI, SCADA, and SAP PM/QM.

Work closely with engineering and automation teams to support systems that integrate with operational technology (OT).

Ensure adherence to cybersecurity and infrastructure standards across plant environments.

Support manufacturing operations by enabling reliable technology solutions on the shop floor.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to partner effectively with business leaders.

Experience in strategic partnership roles such as Business Relationship Management (BRM), IT leadership, or similar roles bridging business and technology.

Demonstrated business analysis and requirements gathering experience.

Ability to act as a technology advisor, understanding IT and OT concepts while translating them for non-technical stakeholders.

Experience working in a manufacturing environment, with comfort engaging directly with plant operations and shop-floor teams.
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to maintain significant on-site presence, particularly during the onboarding period, with travel between sites as needed.

For the Gatineau site, bilingualism (French/English) is required.
