You are a collaborative team player with a strong interest in cybersecurity and a desire to learn in a supportive, hands-on environment. You are eager to build your technical skills while assisting the Information Technology team with day-to-day activities related to cybersecurity, including monitoring, analysis, and supporting the protection of IT systems, applications, and data. Your curiosity, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new tools and security practices will help you contribute to team initiatives and participate in team-based projects that provide valuable hands-on experience.

You Have
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary education in an IT-related field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity with a confirmed return to school in September
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- You have foundational knowledge of cybersecurity concepts such as secure coding practices, vulnerability management, or application security testing.
- You have exposure to cloud computing concepts and an interest in learning about cloud security within environments such as AWS.
- Basic experience or coursework in writing clear, well-documented code and familiarity with source version control tools
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivation, be a team player and possess action-and-results oriented skills
- The ability to meet deadlines and implement instructions under pressure
- Must meet Ontario's minimum working age for the job duties required
Nice To Have
- Basic knowledge of Java, JavaScript, HTML, C, Python and other programming languages
What You Will Do
- Support the cybersecurity team with research, documentation, and analysis related to security initiatives and projects
- Assist with reviewing security reports, vulnerability findings, or system alerts under the guidance of senior team members
- Help document security procedures, standards, and best practices that support the organization’s cybersecurity program.
- Assist with basic security assessments by gathering information and supporting risk analysis activities.
- Support the team in monitoring and maintaining security tools used for application and cloud security.
- Participate in team meetings, knowledge-sharing sessions, and project discussions to gain exposure to cybersecurity practices and technologies.
- Assist with research or simple proof-of-concept activities related to emerging cybersecurity tools and solutions
Summer Student Wage Rates
- Summer Students currently enrolled in secondary school or students working solely on administrative activity: $17.60 per hour
- Summer Students enrolled in post-secondary, first-time hire: $18.35 per hour
- Summer Students enrolled in post-secondary, returning employment: $19.35 per hour
Duration of Employment: May through to the end of August
