We are looking for two IT/Cybersecurity students to join the ATCO AI & Automation Team. Work term starts in May 2026 for 8 or 12-month period in Edmonton.
The AI & Automation Co‑op Student will support the development, testing, and implementation of automation and AI solutions within the AI and Automation team. The role involves hands‑on development work using tools such as Power Automate, UiPath, Azure AI, Microsoft Copilot, and Google AI/Gemini. The student will begin with smaller tasks and progressively take on more complex assignments as skills and experience grow.
Who you are:

Must be enrolled in a co-op (or internship) program at a recognized Canadian university.

Currently enrolled in a Computer Science or closely related program.
Technical Skills:
-
Strong programming fundamentals.

Experience with Python.
-
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).

Exposure to or interest in AI, automation, and workflow technologies.
Soft Skills:

Strong problem‑solving abilities.

Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies.

Ability to take initiative and adapt to new challenges.

Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Develop automation workflows using Power Automate and UiPath.

Build AI‑enabled solutions, including Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) components.

Test, debug, and refine automation and AI workflows.

Assist with analysis, troubleshooting, and documentation activities.

Collaborate with team members to design and implement automation and AI capabilities.

Learn and apply new tools, technologies, and cloud services throughout the work term.
