Cybersecurity Specialist (Part-Time Contractor):
On behalf of our Information Technology client, Procom is searching for a Cybersecurity Specialist (Part-Time Contractor) for a part-time, 3 month contract role. Preferably starts at 10am (for 5hrs) 4 days per week. (total 20hrs/week). This position is a remote position located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Cybersecurity Specialist (Part-Time Contractor) - Job Description:
The Cybersecurity Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing security policies, processes, and platforms to safeguard the organization’s digital environment. This role ensures regulatory compliance, mitigates risks, and leads incident response initiatives to protect the organization's digital infrastructure.
Cybersecurity Specialist (Part-Time Contractor) - Responsibilities:
- Develop, support, and improve information security strategies to safeguard the organization’s digital infrastructure.
- Maintain the Foundation's Cyber Security Roadmap, ensuring compliance with PCI DSS, CIS18, and NIST.
- Create, maintain, and improve Information Security Policies and Procedures.
- Implement administrative and technical controls like encryption, MFA, and endpoint protection.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate IT Risks, and develop reporting.
- Conduct Vulnerability Assessments and evaluate the Threat Landscape.
- Coordinate with incident response teams to manage and resolve information security incidents.
- Implement infrastructure hardening and prioritize cloud security.
- Work with vendors and consultants for annual third-party penetration testing.
- Manage Detection and Response (MDR/XDR) Systems and create reports from Security Event Manager systems.
Cybersecurity Specialist (Part-Time Contractor) - Mandatory Skills:
- Security tools maintenance/management – SolarWinds, Sophos MDR/XDR, WAF
- Incident response efforts and facilitating post-incident lessons learned
- KPIs and metrics to measure security performance
- Reporting security posture, risks, and priorities to leadership – Risk Management
- Network, Azure, server, and virtualization security
- Vulnerability management and penetration testing
- Cybersecurity documentation
Cybersecurity Specialist (Part-Time Contractor) – Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with cloud security tools
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Familiarity with virtualization platform security
