Threat Intelligence Specialist
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 12 months (No possibility of extension or FTE conversion)
Location: Preferred in Toronto - one day a week, but remote candidates are welcome (must accommodate EST hours).
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor for significant events that may disrupt business operations.
- Identify emerging threats, trends, and issues to support decision-making.
- Analyze intelligence from multiple sources to improve threat awareness, analysis, and reporting.
- Assess the significance, urgency, and impact of threats and provide actionable recommendations.
- Develop insights from threat data, identifying intelligence gaps and escalating critical findings.
- Research, analyze, and disseminate security-related intelligence from internal and external sources.
- Support research and development teams by providing contextual threat analysis.
- Engage with senior business representatives and crisis management teams to facilitate information sharing.
- Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address emerging security challenges.
Required Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of relevant experience with a post-secondary degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in threat intelligence, geopolitical analysis, security research, or related security functions.
- Strong ability to assess and validate information, determining its reliability and relevance.
- Expertise in at least one of the following areas: Physical Security, Fraud, Cybersecurity, Geopolitics, or Risk Management.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with intelligence analysis tools and sources for enhanced situational awareness.
- Strong presentation skills and experience writing reports or briefings for various stakeholders, including senior management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cybersecurity or threat intelligence certification (e.g., GCTI) is a plus.
