About
Todd started his career in the mid 90’s when he became certified with several Microsoft OS’s and applications and soon after accepted a role managing 50 consultants at ISM BC (now TELUS BC). In that role he led teams through several major projects, most notably being Y2K upgrades for BC Hydro and Operating system updates for London Drugs stores and corporate office.
He progressively advanced through his career to more senior roles with the last in BC being Manager of Information Technology Security for Ritchie Bros Auctioneers where he built out their initial Information Security strategy and related processes (e.g., Vulnerability Management) and Policies (e.g., Acceptable Use and Information Security Governance).
In 2005 he acquired the CISSP certification and decided to return to the East Coast accepting the role of Manager, IT Compliance and Controls for Sobeys. The earliest project assigned in that position was to perform an exhaustive review of SAP Roles Based security across 60 production application servers.
Within a year and a half he transitioned to the role of Director, Information Technology Security that he held for the following sixteen years. In that role he successfully implemented multiple layers of Cyber Security related controls and solutions such as Security Incident and Event Monitoring (SIEM), Endpoint Detection and Response across 36K client devices and servers, a Vulnerability Management (VM) solution and process, Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) framework and process, an Incident Response (IR) program with high priority playbooks, an Identity and Access Management (IAM) program, and a Payment Card Industry (PCI) program that encompassed over 1500 retail stores, 600 Pharmacies, and several e-commerce sites.
In his last three years with Sobeys the focus shifted to Cyber Security oversight and controls implementation for two of Canada’s largest fully automated warehouses and a multitude of integration points, a compressed implementation of an online grocery ordering and home delivery service, and acquired approval for an updated Cyber Security strategy with an Operational expenditure tripling what had previously existed.
Following approval of the cyber strategy and program at Sobeys, he decided to return to a consulting role with GoSecure building client trust by resolving challenges that in turn secured several large contract renewals.
