The Senior Network Security Specialist provides internal support to the company worldwide, including cross functional support for our enterprise network and comprehensive internet security solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting their team with 24/7 support of operations duties in a fast-paced environment. The Senior Network Security Specialist will be responsible for the functional management of our network, design and deployment of new projects, the delegation of tasks, and the resolution of network issues. The successful specialist will be a vocal advocate for Network Security throughout the organization and be able to develop and follow processes, procedures, and documentation. This individual will be a highly skilled network security specialist and mentor to others.

The Senior Network Security Specialist will be able to use their skills and experience to own, support, deploy and design critical parts of our infrastructure that have touchpoints to every user and system at eSentire. They must show keen attention to detail, effective communication skills, and be able to work within the proper policies and procedures as required. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

Collaborating with multiple business departments to design and implement superior, security-focused, network technologies based on functional requirements
Install new or reconfigure existing services and network hardware
Test and install issued patches in conjunction with software providers and vendors or other third parties.
Advise management of new applications or potential system enhancements in support of future requirements.
Daily monitoring, support, maintenance, tuning and health checks of the corporate systems, networks, and infrastructure while actively reviewing and resolving tickets assigned to the team.
Documentation of Hardware and Software assets and components.
Development of diagrams, runbooks, MOP’s and support procedures.
Participates in disaster recovery planning/testing activities.
Monitoring, identifying and remediating IT security issues in accordance with PCI, ISO, and SOC security programs

To be successful in this role, you will have

5+ years demonstrated experience in a network specialist, NETOPS, Network Security, or related role.
Associates degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Management, or related discipline
A foundational understanding of the general concepts of data networks and security, including but not limited to Data switching, routing, security, WAN, LAN, analysis, firewalls, intrusion prevention, event monitoring, logging, load balancing, operational maintenance, VoIP, Cloud networks.
Prioritizing incoming requests to ensure the timely completion of critical tasks and the escalation of time-sensitive issues
Linux Systems Administration skills are an asset
Be an example for sharing best practices with team members to enhance the quality of support
Be interpersonal, open to direction, and collaborative work styles
Demonstrates keen attention to detail and a commitment to quality of service
Must be able to support a 24/7/365 environment, flexible, and able to work outside regular business hours as required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Able to work on multiple projects at any one period of time

Desired Skills

Cisco CCNA, CCNP certifications (or equivalent) preferred.
Extensive experience with Cisco core network technologies including a deep knowledge of the Cisco IOS, NXOS and IOSXE software and associated platforms.
OSPF/BGP/VRF routing concepts, IP/ARP/MAC/Spanning-tree issues and configurations, troubleshooting 802.1q VLANs or physical and virtual connectivity for servers and other devices (including virtualized environments such VMWare or AWS).
Intermediate/senior knowledge of Palo Alto firewall configuration and management including NGFW devices and Panorama, Prisma Access, WildFire, Threat Prevention, URL Filtering, and Global Protect.
Solid understanding of security principles governing technical environments. Relevant certifications are an asset
Understanding and experience with Amazon AWS Cloud Networking is considered an asset
Hands-on experience supporting a multi-site Cisco VoIP environment (Call Manager).
Practical experience implementing and managing Cisco wireless infrastructure using Cisco Controllers and APs.
Understanding and experience with F5 Load Balancer products and environments
Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (I.E. SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor, Sumologic or Azure Sentinel).
Preferred experience with automating a network environment using scripting tools such as Ansible and Python.
