The team

Reporting to the Program Manager, Cyber Security Monitoring and Response, you will join the Bank’s Cyber Security Monitoring team and play a key role in securing the Canadian economy.

You will have the opportunity to provide guidance, make recommendations, and have a key voice on day-to-day operational priorities. Further, you will be provided with full autonomy to make decisions along with the opportunity to utilize state-of-the-art Enterprise Cyber Security Solutions and consistently learn as technology in the industry evolves.

What you will do

You will provide guidance and direction regarding day-to-day cyber operational priorities to the Cyber Security Monitoring team, including supporting and leading the team through Cyber incident investigations alongside the Bank’s Cyber Security Incident Manager.

In addition, you will:

Provide technical direction and functional support to team members, including strategic and analytic support.
Provide support to the Bank’s Vulnerability Management framework and participate in the analysis, reporting and remediation of vulnerabilities that relate to your area of responsibility.
Lead and perform day to day operational activities within the Security Monitoring team, including providing direction on daily priorities and leading complex investigations.

What you need to succeed

You are a leader by example and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills which enables you to be a senior member of the team and provide appropriate feedback to your team members.

In addition, you have familiarity and/or experience with:

MITRE ATT&CK Framework, security monitoring, and incident response
Threat hunting and knowledge of digital forensics & detection engineering best practices
SIEM tools and the creation of custom security analytics (use cases)
Windows OS and how to secure it, including knowledge of Windows logging and telemetry sources (e.g. Windows logs, Sysmon, Procmon, ETW, etc.)
Network & operating system security features (e.g., Kerberos, Active Directory, Linux Auditd) including knowledge network security technologies (e.g., network firewalls, web proxies, Zeek)
Offensive security capabilities and threat actor objectives
Cyber security frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK, NIST SP 800-53) and the Cyber Kill Chain

Nice-to-have skills

Recent experience as a senior team member within a major enterprise environment
Experience with Splunk as a SIEM tool
Experience working in a vulnerability assessment program
Experience with web application security
Relevant Industry certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, etc.

Your education and experience

The position requires a university degree/diploma in computer science or other relevant field along with 4+ years of experience within information security.

Hybrid Work Model

Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $86,780 to $108,465 (job grade 17)
Depending on performance, you may be eligible for performance pay for successfully meeting (7 to 10% of your base salary) or for exceeding expectations (15% of your base salary). Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
