The Opportunity
The Senior Information Technology & Business Systems Professional (Senior IT Professional) is responsible for managing, supporting, and enhancing an organization’s technology infrastructure and systems. Reporting directly to company executives, the professional will work within technical areas, including network management, system administration, cybersecurity, software development, and IT support. In this hands-on role, the Senior IT Professional has one direct report reporting to them and as a Team they will be responsible for approximately 100 users and 25+ other devices across 5 office locations.
Primary Responsibilities

Provide technical support and assistance to staff and end-users, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.

Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, servers, and workstations.

Ensure regular updates and patches are applied to software and hardware to maintain security and performance of key systems.

Perform routine backups and disaster recovery procedures to protect organizational data.

To integrate automation into the company’s overall business plan, including providing regular monthly and annual reports to the management team.

To keep abreast of changes in the computer environment, trends, and new products in the automation industry, and to offer suggestions to management that assist in improving workflow and staff productivity.

Ensure the maintenance of daily and monthly backups and procedures, scheduling the work outside regular hours or on weekends when staff need to be off the system, in order to minimize downtime.

Troubleshooting and setting up users on the Power Broker system, as well as configuring new users on other software applications as needed, ensuring seamless access and functionality across platforms.

Pricing and purchasing of all new computer equipment and upgrades to our system. Pricing, set up and maintenance of all PC’s, troubleshooting and training of staff in automation.

Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and mitigate risks.

Implement and enforce security measures to protect against internal and external threats (e.g., firewalls, anti-virus software, and data encryption).

Educate staff on best security practices and ensure compliance with company policies.
Skills and Qualifications

Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and server management.

Strong knowledge of networking protocols, hardware, and network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).

Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).

Experience with cybersecurity practices, including firewalls, VPNs, encryption, and access controls.

Experience with software deployment, configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet), and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).

Experience with IT support tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk, Jira).

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.

Strong verbal and written communication skills to assist users and document technical processes.

Ability to work with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide technical solutions.

Experience in IT Project Management or contributing to IT projects from initiation to completion.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and address potential problems before they escalate.

7+ years of experience in IT support, network administration, or systems administration.
