About The Role
The Mobility House seeks a self-motivated, collaborative Network Security Engineer to support our mission to accelerate the transition to zero-emission transportation. This Network Security Engineer will collaborate with our Product, Delivery, and Operations teams to ensure The Mobility House's software and onsite hardware work within customer and partners networking setup.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide remote support for network-related issues in charging infrastructure, including diagnosing connectivity problems between programmable logic controllers and electric vehicle charging stations
- Assist in the configuration and optimization of network setups for complex electric vehicle charging infrastructure
- Configure and manage firewalls to ensure network security and compliance with organizational policies, including ensuring reliable WebSocket connections
- Monitor network performance to identify bottlenecks or issues, and optimize network configurations for improved performance
- Support pre- and post-sales network security inquiries including questionnaires and direct calls with customers
- Own full scope of networking expert function for The Mobility House North America, which may include occasional IT support for employees with network and device issues
Requirements
- Strong Knowledge of HTTP/S - Experience in analyzing HTTP/S traffic, understanding headers, response codes, caching, and handling RESTful API requests
- Expertise in TLS/SSL - Proficient in TLS handshake processes, certificate management, and troubleshooting SSL/TLS issues. Knowledge of OpenSSL, certificate validation, and PKI (Public Key Infrastructure)
- Experience with DNS and TCP/IP - Familiarity with DNS resolution, TCP/IP, routing and switching principles
- Demonstrated proficiency with network debugging tools, including tcpdump, Nmap, iptables, and Wireshark
- Experience in remote debugging of traffic between IoT devices including proficiency in debugging WebSocket connections
- Proficient in Network Address Translation (NAT), and firewall technologies
- Strong understanding of network configurations and troubleshooting in Linux
- Experience setting up and managing DMZ for secure network architecture
- Working knowledge of Cloud PaaS / SaaS architecture, and security/compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2
- Experience fielding technical customer questions and solutions in an enterprise setting
- Skilled in effectively communicating complex networking concepts and troubleshooting steps to customers, ensuring clear understanding and resolution of technical issues

- Background in networking of electric vehicle charging infrastructure
- Experience in scripting and network automation
- Familiarity with Load Testing and Performance Monitoring
- Past roles as sole subject matter expert at innovative startup
- Experience collaborating with external cybersecurity and IT teams
- Experience providing internal IT support
- Knowledge of penetration/vulnerability testing/scanning
- Industry Certifications (good to have): CompTia Network+ or Security+, CISSP, CCNP
- Ability to travel to the United States
