Reporting to the Leader, Threat & Vulnerability Management, you will get to work with a world-class team responsible for proactive security, serve a support role in the Threat Intelligence and Vulnerability Management capabilities, and support Interac’s business and products. In this role you can expect a heavy focus on analysis, investigation and staying up-to-date of evolving threats, security trends and technologies.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Learning about the cybersecurity industry, relevant threats and events, and Interac’s role in the Canadian financial ecosystem.
- Maintaining an awareness of evolving threats, emerging trends, and advancements in technologies, and how they can influence the organization’s threat landscape.
- Conducting comprehensive analyses and research on threats and vulnerabilities to inform and influence decision-making processes.
- Leading investigations with an insatiable appetite and dedication to learning, employing critical thinking approaches to uncover insights and solve complex problems.
You bring:
- Passion for the cybersecurity industry and a strong desire to learn
- Desire to keep up with latest developments in cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies
- Foundational cybersecurity or networking technical experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint)
- Figure it out mentality, taking initiative to identify and creatively solve complex problems
- Attention to detail. Nothing is too small or insignificant
- Communication skills, both verbal and written, with a proven ability to listen actively, articulate ideas clearly, and convey information effectively
- Currently completing an undergraduate degree from a creditable Canadian institution with a focus on Cybersecurity, Information Security, Network Engineering & Security, Computer Science
- In possession of or working towards: SANS GIAC GCLD / GCDA / GCIA, Comptia CySa+, or other comparable cyber security certification
- Although not required, you have some familiarity or previous experience with the following:
- Scripting or software development experience is nice to have
- Cloud experience
- GoC Security Clearance (reliability at a minimum)
- Business related experience
- Experience with ticket management platforms (JIRA, ServiceNow), SIEM tools (Splunk, Qradar), EDP tools (Cortex), other security-related toolsets (Microsoft Defender, ProofPoint, Tenable, Panorama, etc)
