General Accountability:
We are seeking a highly motivated, forward-thinking IT Support Specialist to join our manufacturing business's IT team. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of Products, Active Directory, and Azure services, ensuring smooth and efficient desktop computing operations within our dynamic manufacturing environment. This position will play a crucial role in maintaining the reliability and functionality of our desktop systems at all branches, providing timely technical support to end-users, and contributing to the overall success of our IT department.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Desktop Support:
- Provide expert-level desktop support to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues promptly and effectively.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop systems, software applications, and peripheral devices.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent and reliable end-user experiences across all desktop systems.
Microsoft Suite Expertise:
- Utilize deep knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) to assist end-users in optimizing their productivity and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Microsoft Office application issues, ensuring seamless usage and compatibility.
Active Directory and Azure Integration:
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and group memberships within Active Directory.
- Leverage Azure services to enhance user authentication, access control, and data security.
- Collaborate with system administrators to integrate on-premises systems with Azure services.
Technical Support:
- Respond to user-reported issues via various communication channels, providing clear and concise solutions and guidance.
- Escalate complex technical problems to higher-level IT staff or vendors as necessary.
- Document support tickets, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions accurately for future reference.
System Maintenance and Upgrades:
- Perform regular system maintenance tasks, including software updates, patches, and security configurations.
- Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues to minimize downtime.
- Assist in planning and executing desktop hardware and software upgrades as required.
User Training and Knowledge Sharing:
- Conduct training sessions for end-users to enhance their understanding of desktop applications and best practices.
- Share technical knowledge and expertise with team members, promoting a collaborative learning environment.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite of Products, particularly Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Profound knowledge of Active Directory user and group management.
- Familiarity with Azure services and integration concepts.
- Prior experience in desktop support and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

Preferred qualifications:
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals).
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Familiarity with specialized manufacturing software.
