🚀 We’re Hiring: Snowflake AI Engineer | Hydro One
I’m excited to share an opportunity to join Hydro One as an Artificial Intelligence Engineer and help build AI solutions in enterprise level.
At Hydro One, AI isn’t just about experimentation — we’re focused on taking AI from ideas and prototypes to scalable, production-ready solutions that support operational excellence, grid reliability, customer experience, and data-driven decision-making.
What you’ll work on
As an AI Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to:
🔹 Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML solutions for complex business and operational challenges
🔹 Work with large and complex operational and customer datasets
🔹 Develop Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions, including AI agents that can automate workflows and augment human decision-making
🔹 Work with modern AI/data platforms, including Snowflake and Cortex AI
🔹 Apply RAG, LLMs, embeddings, prompt engineering, and AI agent architectures to enterprise use cases
🔹 Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, software engineers, and business stakeholders
🔹 Evaluate emerging AI technologies and translate them into practical enterprise solutions
🔹 Deploy, monitor, test, and continuously improve AI solutions in production
🔹 Build AI responsibly, with strong consideration for security, privacy, reliability, transparency, and regulatory requirements
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone with a strong foundation in AI/ML and software engineering, including:
✅ Python
✅ Machine learning and deep learning
✅ TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn or similar frameworks
✅ Experience working with large-scale datasets and data warehouses
✅ Strong data preprocessing and feature engineering skills
✅ Software engineering practices — Git, testing, code reviews, CI/CD and production deployment
✅ Understanding of statistics and model evaluation
✅ Experience with Snowflake is highly desirable
✅ Experience with Snowflake Cortex AI / Cortex Agents is a strong advantage
✅ Experience building Gen AI or Agentic AI solutions is highly desirable
✅ Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Experience in the energy, utilities, grid, or operational technology space is a plus, but not required.
âš¡ Why this opportunity?
You’ll be working on mission-critical AI problems in one of Canada’s most important infrastructure sectors.
This is an opportunity to go beyond building models — you’ll help shape how AI, data, and intelligent automation are applied at enterprise scale to modernize the energy sector.
If you’re an AI Engineer, Data & AI Engineer, or Gen AI Engineer who wants to work on meaningful problems and build AI solutions that move from concept to production, I’d love to hear from you.
