About this role:
We have a unique opportunity to gain valuable practical and professional experience in our IT department as an IT Help Desk Support for a duration of six (6) months. If you are currently enrolled in a relevant program or recently graduated, this opportunity will help you prepare for a future career in IT. This position will help support the IT team with various projects and tasks. As an IT Help Desk Support, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to our team, work alongside and learn from experienced and talented professionals. This position reports to the Director of IT, Cyber Security & Business Transformation and is an on-site position.
Core Responsibilities:
- Support the IT team in expediting Technical Support Tickets and technical assignments
- Demonstrate a results-oriented approach with a strong sense of accountability and ownership, ensuring timely task completion
- Provide written documentation in accordance with BHI standards
- Offer desktop support and deploy new PCs/Laptops
- Provide network administration support
- Monitor and record resource utilization (CPU/Disk/Memory utilization)
- Monitor backups
- Provide telephone VoIP support
- Offer telecommunications support
- Prepare IT operations-based documentation
All other duties as assigned
What we are looking for:
- New graduate or currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent
Knowledge of operating systems, virtual machines, mail filters, network administration, vulnerability and patch management, release upgrade management, VPN communications, telecommunications, cloud and hosting-related technology solutions, and desktop technical support is considered an asset
What you'll need to be successful:
- Advanced troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills for timely resolution of Technical Support Tickets and assignments
- Proficient organization and technical skills to support independent management and timely completion of work assignments and priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong reading comprehension abilities
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer relations skills
- Strong work ethic with a positive approach to work and co-workers
Energetic and motivated with an excellent attendance record
