With a staff of 14,000, the TCDSB is a dynamic school board and is seeking
an eleven-month (11) temporary position (possibility for an extension) for an
Administrative Assistant-Cybersecurity & Privacy Department within the
ICT department.
Our hybrid work model balances working from home and meaningful in-person interaction at our Catholic Education Centre located at 80 Sheppard Ave, E, Toronto, ON.

Key Accountabilities
Reporting to and under the direction of the Assist Senior Manager, Privacy Compliance & Risk Management, this position will work within the ICT Services Division and is responsible for supporting privacy, compliance, risk management, and cybersecurity initiatives.
- Provide the following tasks under the direction of the Assistant Senior Manager, Privacy Compliance & Risk Management:
- Assist in the maintenance of Privacy and Security Awareness Training program
- Assist in the administration of TCDSB Freedom of Information request response
- Assist in the administration of software review process
- Participate in the security alert monitoring, triaging and analysis of security events/incidents
- Provide support in response to security events and escalate security incidents to lead analysts as required
- Collaborate in performing vulnerability scans and follow-up with staff to ensure patches are installed in a timely manner
- Aid in monitoring, notification and remediation of cyber advisories and threat intelligence
- Assist in the creation of system reports
- Provide support with follow-up and remediation with respect to compromised accounts and vulnerable users
- Perform other duties as assigned or required
Requirements
- Two-year College Diploma in cybersecurity or related field
- Minimum one(1) year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Relevant privacy, cybersecurity, and/or risk management certifications are an asset
- Demonstrated understanding of security and privacy legal and regulatory requirements
- Willing to learn and support the administration of comprehensive privacy, risk management and cybersecurity frameworks, and technologies, firewall technologies, endpoint protection, email security, web gateways, identity and access management, authentication (MFA), vulnerability management, penetration testing and threat hunting, data-loss prevention, encryption, networking concepts, and technology solutions
- Demonstrated excellent communication and administrative skills with strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
