As a Cybersecurity Operations Analyst, you will support the cybersecurity team in protecting IREN’s cloud-based and corporate environments. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, IT, you’ll help monitor, triage, and respond to security events, maintain documentation, and contribute to automation and process improvements.
Job Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in IT Administration and System Support
- Basic Knowledge of Windows/Linux, networking protocols and Cloud Services
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory and Virtualization
- Strong troubleshooting skills, be familiar with Windows/Linux logs and eagerness to learn new technologies
- Knowledge of the Incident Response Lifecycle
- Experience with Vulnerability Management and Patching
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- IT Certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or Microsoft Certifications are a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security or related field
Preferred Skills
- Experience with SIEM platforms: Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, ELK Stack or similar
- Experience with Endpoint Protection tools: Microsoft Defender
- Familiarity with MDR/XDR platforms: CrowdStrike, Field Effect or similar
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts and event logs from tools such as Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, and other platforms.
- Conduct vulnerability scans and assist with patch verification.
- Analyze phishing emails and fine-tune Microsoft Exchange rules.
- Support triage and investigation of potential security incidents under the guidance of senior analysts.
- Maintain and tune SIEM alerts, detection rules, and automation workflows.
- Respond to low- and medium-severity incidents, contributing to containment, remediation, and documentation.
- Maintain and update incident response runbooks, playbooks, and documentation.
- Research emerging threats and vulnerabilities, sharing insights with the team.
- Assist with asset and vulnerability management tracking.
- Participate in cybersecurity awareness initiatives and provide user support as needed.
- Support the automation of repeatable tasks using scripting or integrated security tools.
- Familiarity with NIST or ISO 27001 cybersecurity frameworks.

Compensation- The expected base salary for this role starts at CAD$85,000/annum.
