ABOUT THE ROLE
The Cybersecurity Program Lead is a highly skilled professional experienced in the implementation of cybersecurity frameworks aligned with industry standards and best practices. Proficient in industrial control systems analysis, the incumbent is a trusted partner for clients in the transit and infrastructure sectors, capable of assessing cyber threat landscapes and aligning cybersecurity strategies with client needs. The Cybersecurity Program Lead will foster growth within the cybersecurity team, sharing their knowledge and providing guidance for the junior associates to strengthen department skills. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Cybersecurity, the position will act as a key player in the maintenance of compliant cybersecurity practices catered to internal/external stakeholder needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Apply cybersecurity frameworks based on industry best practices (ie: NIST, ISA/IEC 62443, APTA, etc.) and applicable national standards.
- Analyze and identify cybersecurity industrial controls suitable for clients in the transit/infrastructure development industry.
- Assist clients in understanding the cybersecurity threat landscape, assess the maturity of their cybersecurity strategy within the context of business objectives and risks.
- Execute and maintain incident response processes to ensure that systems meet or exceed performance, reliability, and security standards.
- Troubleshoot client challenges before, throughout, and after implementation of cyber control program(s).
- Support the cybersecurity team by providing guidance, mentorship and support, to foster continuous improvement and innovation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create strong relationships and raise awareness of the cybersecurity team's role and capabilities.
- Update and maintain WGD’s cybersecurity methodologies, policies and practices as directed by the department lead or WGD Leadership.
- Promote WGD cybersecurity programs throughout the organization to support awareness and compliance to establish procedures and protocols.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Proven ability to apply cybersecurity tools and network security techniques (ie. Access Control, Firewalls, SIEM, etc.)
- Ability to lead, motivate, mentor, and guide team members to achieve organizational objectives.
- Execute consistent communication, both across the organization and with clients that fosters a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Maintain comprehensive organizational records, including any relevant documentation required for audits and compliance purposes.
- Positively represent WGD at various industry events, conferences and client engagements in support of, and to propel WGD’s strategy.
- Demonstrate a broad commitment to financial, social, and environmental impacts of the projects they support.
- Commitment to ongoing learning of industry trends and changes in technology to ensure current and relevant practices and documentation are in place.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Flexibility and adaptability to navigate a dynamic and changing environment.
- Develop working knowledge of information system standards such as American Public Transportation Association (APTA), US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), International Organization of Standards (ISO), etc.
- Other position relevant duties as assigned by department lead or WGD Leadership to support project operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three (3+) years experience in implementing cybersecurity frameworks (ISO, NIST, etc.) including but not limited to: programs and strategies, penetration testing and vulnerability assessments, cyber security governance, security architecture, incident response, and identity and access management.
- Two – Four (2-4) years experience in cybersecurity policy and procedure document creation and review, stakeholder management, Client presentations and reporting.
- Demonstrated experience in leadership, team mentoring, client and project management.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster collaborative working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and clients.
- Desire to take initiative and anticipate project requirements on a pro-active basis.
- Professional command of the English language in both spoken and written communications and presentation settings.
- Sound knowledge of MS Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively as required.
- Familiarity with relevant technologies (SCADA and PLC’s) and industry best practices.
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Business Information Technology (Bachelor or Masters), or in a technical field (e.g. Computer Science) and or post graduate education in Cybersecurity or equivalent education.
- Other certifications including, CISSP, CCNA, Security +, GIAC - GICSP, CSSA (IACRB) are considered an asset.
- Experience with Smartsheet is an asset.
- Experience with Microsoft Project is an asset.
