Job Summary
Reporting to the IT Security Manager, the Cybersecurity Intern will be a working member of the Cybersecurity team. This internship is for candidates who want real exposure to operational cybersecurity, audit readiness, and technical governance—not just theory. You will work directly with security and technology teams to produce, validate, and organize security documentation and audit-ready artifacts across cybersecurity, OT environments, incident response, cloud & operational security domains. Accuracy, clarity, and discipline matter in this role.
Duties & Responsibilities - Develop and maintain technical and security documentation including procedures, standards, runbooks, and control narratives.
- Review & update existing security documentation for accuracy, completeness, and consistency against defined standards and control requirements.
- Prepare and organize audit-ready artifacts supporting cybersecurity and compliance activities.
- Support documentation and evidence collection for:
- Cybersecurity controls and safeguards
- Operational Technology (OT) security practices
- Incident response processes and exercises (specifically runbooks)
- Cloud security configurations and controls
- Cross-check documented controls against implemented practices and flag gaps or inconsistencies and/or initiate new documentation and processes in collaboration with other members of the Digital & Information Services department when required.
- Assist in building structured evidence repositories for internal and external audits.
- Help standardize templates and documentation formats across security domains.
- Track document versions, approvals, and review cycles.
- Work with technical teams to translate complex technical processes into clear, structured documentation.
- Support tabletop exercises and incident response documentation updates.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of documentation quality and audit readiness processes.
Essential
Skills & Qualifications - Currently pursuing a diploma or degree in:
- Cybersecurity
- Information Security
- Computer Science
- Information Systems
- Engineering or related technical field
- Strong technical writing and editing skills (experience in technical writing a benefit)
- High attention to detail — able to detect inconsistencies and errors in technical material.
- Comfortable reading and interpreting technical procedures and configurations.
- Strong organizational and documentation discipline
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Visio) tools
- Able to handle sensitive information responsibly.
Preferred - Coursework or exposure to:
- Security controls and frameworks
- Incident response
- Cloud platforms
- Industrial / OT environments
- Technical writing
- Familiarity with control frameworks (e.g., NIST-style controls, ISO-style controls, or similar)
- Experience with documentation, SOP writing, or audit preparation
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts and terminology
- Experience using ticketing or document management systems.
