Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial leader to grow Everest Group’s CIO Practice, serving CIOs and their leadership teams of large global enterprises. This role blends thought leadership, practice-building, client engagement, and operational leadership. You will develop and expand client relationships, shape our research agenda, produce influential published content, deliver high-impact custom engagements, and collaborate across the firm to bring integrated insights to the market.
The ideal candidate has deep experience advising or leading IT organizations, understands the pressures CIOs face, and is passionate about building a business. You should be comfortable with both driving strategy and rolling up your sleeves to get work done.
Key Responsibilities
Business Management and Leadership
- Own the overall vision, strategy, and plan for the practice
- Ensure alignment and execution across product, marketing, sales, and delivery to grow the business in accordance with the vision and strategy – and re-aligning as the business scales and new learnings and opportunities emerge
- Serve on the Executive Committee leadership team
Thought Leadership & Research
- Produce high-quality research, frameworks, and thought leadership relevant to CIOs and IT leadership teams (including collaborating closely with existing research teams)
- Represent Everest Group through webinars, media commentary, keynote speaking engagements, and our events portfolio
Client Leadership
- Build and deepen executive-level relationships with CIOs and IT leaders at Fortune 500 / Global 2000 companies
- Support account penetration and growth, through both memberships and custom advisory projects (assessments, benchmarks, strategy workshops, etc.)
- Serve as a trusted advisor who can translate research into pragmatic action for senior IT stakeholders
Team Management
- Grow, mentor, and lead a team of industry analysts to deliver consistently high-quality work
- Foster a culture of curiosity, client-centricity, excellence, collaboration, and accountability
Cross-Firm Collaboration
- Partner with other research practices (e.g., Cloud, Applications, Infrastructure, Talent, Sourcing, Industry-specific) to coordinate IT-relevant insights and ensure cohesive market messaging
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and events teams to bring the practice’s insights to market
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Direct exposure to CIO agendas such as digital transformation, operating model modernization, vendor management, IT governance, cloud strategy, cybersecurity, data/AI initiatives, and talent models
- Track record of delivering and selling professional services; must have client-facing experience with a strong business development mindset
- Must thrive in a collaborative, highly matrixed environment and be proactive in identifying internal and external collaboration opportunities
- Experience working in or with heavily offshore teams a plus
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in IT leadership, IT strategy, IT consulting, technology advisory, or related professional services roles
- Strong orientation toward building, not just operating - entrepreneurial mindset required
- Demonstrated ability to produce compelling thought leadership and communicate complex topics clearly
- Experience leading global teams and developing talent
- Ability to work at both executive-strategic and detail-execution levels
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity and evolving priorities
- Located in either Central or Eastern time zone
- Willingness to travel for client meetings and events

Remote Work and Travel (Including International): The candidate must be comfortable with a combination of remote work and travel, with the flexibility to work from home when not traveling and travel as needed to client sites, conferences, training sessions or company events, both domestically and internationally.
