In this role, students support cybersecurity and systems engineering activities for mission-critical systems within the Air & Naval Division, helping ensure systems are designed, tested, and assessed according to technical and security requirements. Students gain practical experience working with acoustic, sonar, and other naval systems, as well as exposure to secure system design and verification under the guidance of senior engineers.
This position provides hands-on experience in systems engineering, cybersecurity assessment, and verification activities, helping students develop skills in technical analysis, testing, and documentation within an air and naval operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with reviewing and analysing system and cybersecurity requirements, helping ensure clarity and technical accuracy.
- Support system and software testing activities, including executing test cases, verifying results, and documenting observations under guidance.
- Contribute to threat analysis and vulnerability assessment efforts, helping collect data and track mitigation activities.
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of technical documentation, including design artifacts, test reports, and security records.
- Support verification and validation of system and cybersecurity requirements, helping confirm that designs meet specifications.
- Operate and maintain test simulators, equipment, or lab environments as needed to support evaluation efforts.
- Collaborate with engineers, software developers, and test teams to support secure system design and testing.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by supporting best practices in cybersecurity and systems engineering.
