Inner City Diesel Ltd. (ICD) is currently seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation/IT Technologist to support an oilsands reclamation project for a 5-to-6-month fixed term contract. The schedule for this position is a 14x14 rotation, working twelve 12-hour shifts for the duration of the project.
The Instrumentation/IT Technologist will be responsible for managing and maintaining the IT infrastructure, control systems, and instrumentation for the reclamation project. This role requires a strong understanding of both IT and industrial control systems, as well as instrumentation technology, to ensure seamless operations and optimal performance.

Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IT and OT hardware and software systems
- Manage and maintain industrial control systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and reliably
- Monitor and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect IT and OT systems from threats and vulnerabilities
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for IT and control systems, resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime
- Document system configurations, procedures, incidents, and troubleshooting steps
- Ensure all systems and processes continue to comply with industry standards, regulations, and ICD policies
- Work closely with the Project Manager and other team members to support the oilsands reclamation project
- Travel to site for support as required by the Project Manager
- Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation equipment used for monitoring and controlling processes at the oil site.
- Conduct regular and routine inspections of worksites and equipment with the intention of identifying, assessing, and controlling all hazardous conditions
- Ensure that all work permits are obtained and adhered to
- Plan the daily work for the site and ensure efficient deployment and productivity of work crews
- Monitor equipment utilization and report down equipment to mechanics
- Review and implement weekly servicing and preventative maintenance schedules
- Ensure compliance with customer commitments and overall production schedules

This includes, but is not limited to, following Safe Work practices and procedures, attending safety meetings and toolbox talks, understanding and navigating our digital safety application (SiteDocs), completing FLRA’s, using PPE, inspection of vehicles, tools, and equipment, and more.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in IT, instrumentation, or control systems, preferably within the oil and gas industry
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex systems
- Experience with IT and OT system management and support.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, cybersecurity, and industrial control systems.
Desired Qualifications:
- Post Secondary Education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or similar are a plus.
- General knowledge of boat operation and marine emergency responsibilities is an asset
