Athabasca University's Office of the Vice President Information Technology and Chief Information Officer is recruiting to a full-time permanent Cybersecurity Operations Analyst.
The Position:
The Cybersecurity Operations Analyst (COA) plays a critical role in safeguarding AU by defending against cybersecurity threats. The COA will identify, analyze, communicate and respond to cybersecurity incidents as they occur. Additionally, the COA is also responsible for scoping, design,and implementation of the technical aspects of cybersecurity projects.
The COA works will work cross functionally with teams across the university and with 3rd party security stakeholders such as the Managed Security Services Partner (MSSP) to support the overall delivery of the cybersecurity program, specifically as it relates to the use of protective technologies,cybersecurity operations and response.
Qualifications:

A degree/diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

A minimum of 5 years' experience in information security, especially on a security incident response team, computer emergency response team, Security Operations Centre.

5+ years' experience in another IT function.

5+ years' experience with regulatory compliance, cybersecurity frameworks and standards preferred.

Relevant certifications such as AWS Security Specialty, AZ-500, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), OffSec Certified Professional (OSCP) will be an asset.
