As a GRC Analyst at Absorb, you will participate in assessing security, risk and regulatory compliance requirements in our client vendor cyber risk management related activities and provide feedback to our governance and risk frameworks. You will run and enhance our Responsive.io platform to continually improve our response to client RFPs, questionnaires and general inquiries.
You will be part of a risk-minded team that believes in continuous progress and right-sizing our controls to best align with our business goals and objectives where security culture and mindset is key. Our team is continuously rethinking how Risk Governance can be accomplished in innovative ways.

What you’ll do:
- Support the ongoing execution of the GRC program and initiatives
- Support evaluating effectiveness of security/privacy controls
- Perform business impact analysis and vendor risk assessments
- Support application & services risk assessments
- Support client security/privacy questionnaires
- Support the review and update information security policies, standards, processes and procedures
- Support security awareness and cultivating a risk aware culture
- Support external audit activities
What you’ll bring:
- 1 – 3 years of experience in performing activities within the GRC domain
- A basic understanding of information security and compliance frameworks including SOC 1/2, ISO, NIST, GDPR, CCPA, SOX, and SEC cybersecurity requirements.
- Strong judgment and the ability to make quick decisions when working with complex situations.
- Solid organizational skills and ability to multitask/prioritize workloads.
- Proven understanding of public cloud infrastructure and services in AWS and GCP including knowledge of cloud-native security protection measures, tools, and techniques.
- The ability to understand and influence cross-functional teams to accomplish goals as well as communicating business risk from cybersecurity issues.
Additional preferred qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of common Security frameworks such as ISO 27001/2, SOC2, NIST CSF
- Basic knowledge of common Security Standards such as NIST 800 series
- Basic knowledge of risk management principles and methodologies
- Basic knowledge of technical aspects of Information Security
- Good communication skills including ability to present technical subjects to nontechnical audiences
- Understanding of software development practices
- Basic knowledge of Privacy frameworks or principles of PII, data residency requirements and international regulatory aspects
