The Executive Director, Office of the CISO (ED-oCISO) plays a critical role in serving as a trusted partner to Optiv’s clients, partners and prospects. By combining deep security leader knowledge and business development skills, the ED-oCISO engages in strategic discussions with clients/prospects/stakeholders across Canada. Aligned with their client's/prospect's security initiatives and alongside a sales team, the ED-oCISO advises on Cyber plans and solutions for highly defensible and scalable security programs. Typically the ED-oCISO engages C-suite leadership and board level. The ED-oCISO has real-world experience as a CIO/CTO/CISO knowledge and can engage in pragmatic security discussions tailored to each client’s/prospect’s unique environment, as well as provide clients and sellers with consistent security leadership expertise on all sales opportunities. In partnership with domain specialists and experts, the ED-oCISO will facilitate thought leadership and inspire cyber security solutions powered by our ecosystem of people, products, and partners.
How You'll Make An Impact
- Understand and maintain knowledge of the client’s/prospect’s security environment, business operations, security needs, and risk appetite. Identify their security concerns and how they correlate to Optiv’s strategic solutions across the assigned domain and holistic cyber security programs.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders as a trusted partner and advisor.
- Communicate complex technical outcomes to technical and non-technical audiences at multiple levels within the organization, including board level.
- Clearly articulate how the necessary elements of the Optiv technology and services portfolio meet the specific needs of the client stakeholders at the leadership and board level.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, news, and maintain a broad understanding of the security landscape to facilitate thought leadership, support, analysis, and guidance to clients and internal Optiv groups.
- Collaborate with service delivery to ensure the team has necessary supporting domain specialty materials that presents a consistent and comprehensive approach.
- Effectively work with multiple client personas across the security team, as well as other relevant personas to discuss security strategy and define roadmaps to execute on security strategy aligned business goals, budgetary spend, and metrics based on return of investment.
- Build advisory relationships with key stakeholders at clients by facilitating thought leadership, support, information, and guidance in conjunction with sales partners.
- Maintain strong working relationships with relevant Optiv technology partners, based on client spend, and Optiv focus.
What We're Looking For
- BS/BA or applicable work experience.
- Minimum of ten (10) years in an information security role, preferably as a consulting advisor or Cybersecurity leader. Ideally has successfully held the role(s) of CIO/CTO or CISO.
- Experience in mentorship/guidance of team members.
- Expert in briefing new clients or prospects on operational strategies and expected outcomes.
- Technical/tactical discussions on operational activities as they related to cyber threat actor operations.
- Advanced current knowledge of client success practices, security threats, solutions, security tools, network technologies & procedures.
- Strong presentation and verbal communication skills with an ability to frame a conversation in business language.
- Ability to work in a highly adaptable and nimble team environment with responsive communication.
- Advanced experience working with C-Suite executives, VPs, and Boards of Directors.
- Advanced ability to build and nurture trusted relationships with clients and internally.
- Thorough understanding of the current threat landscape, vulnerabilities, and defensive controls.
- Maintain broad security related knowledge and continuously expands their expertise in other domains across the portfolio.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CRISC, CISM, C-CISO, etc.
- Ability to work in-person and remotely with distributed teams in a decentralized environment.
- Ability to travel within Canada or assigned accounts, as well as internationally as needed.
- Understanding of Government at the Federal/Provincial/Municipal levels.
- Understanding of Canadian Critical infrastructure as defined buy Public Safety Canada.
- Ability to hold a government sponsored Top Secret (TS) security clearance.
- Insatiable desire to learn.
- French language skills are an asset.
