If so, we are hiring a Security Analyst to be based out of our Headquarters in Durham, NC.

The Security Analyst role is the front line of our SOC. This role will monitor and respond to customer communication, while also being responsible for monitoring, analyzing, detecting, and responding to security events and incidents within multiple information networks. Analysts will work closely with other members of the team to perform investigations, respond to threats and vulnerabilities, and provide recommendations for process improvements.

This position will primarily work from home but has the possibility for in-office elements. Our Analysts work Four (4) Ten hour shifts with a paid lunch hour. This position is for the Wed-Sat 8am-6pm shifts. All Security Analysts will participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule that includes evening and weekend coverage. During the training period, which lasts approximately three (3) months, the schedule will be Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:30pm.

This position has a starting salary of $60,000 annually.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:

Meaningfully assess alerts generated by servers, endpoints, applications, intrusion detection systems, and network appliances in enterprise environments using SIEM and EDR solutions.
Provide in-depth analysis of security events, and make effective recommendations to stakeholders
Perform internal and external vulnerability assessments and recommend remediation actions
Assist in identifying changes that will improve our ability to create the best security posture for our customers
Quickly adapt to continually changing technologies, methodologies, and threat landscape
Develop and improve team policies and procedures with the support of your fellow Security Operation Center teammates
Remain up to date with security trends and threats, i.e Vulnerabilities, Breaches, Best Practice
Complete daily tasks that advance our core mission of customer service

MUST HAVES:

Strong analytical thinking skills
Fundamental knowledge of Networking and Network Security Concepts, i.e. Defense in Depth
Understanding of TCP/IP
Strong understanding of Information Security best practices
1st / 2nd shift flexibility and the ability to perform 24/7 On-Call
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work autonomously to complete tasks and meet deadlines

PREFERENCE PROVIDED:

1-2 years experience in IT Security or Networking
A degree in Cybersecurity, Networking or related Information Technology field
Experience with one or more SIEM platform(s)
Experience with one or more EDR platform(s)
Intermediate Linux CLI experience
Industry certification(s) such as Security+, Linux+, Network+, CySA+
