With a wealth of international experience, having taught English in the Middle East and lived across continents including Africa and Europe, Ishmael possesses a deep understanding of global cultures and their interconnectedness in today's digital age. Having returned to Canada in 2016 with his family, Ishmael is eager to embark on a second career in cybersecurity, driven by a genuine passion for the field.
Committed to advancing cybersecurity awareness, education, and training, Ishmael has actively pursued opportunities to expand his knowledge and expertise. Recently, he successfully completed the Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst's Accelerated Cybersecurity Training Program, obtaining three prestigious GIAC certifications from the esteemed SANS Institute: GFACT, GSEC, and GCIH. This rigorous training has allowed him to build a strong foundation in the field, equipping him with practical skills and knowledge to tackle emerging cybersecurity challenges.
Prior to his foray into cybersecurity, Ishmael gained valuable experience in the healthcare industry as a Personal Support Worker and demonstrated his dedication through a successful internship as a Wellness Intern. Further emphasizing his commitment to professional growth, he recently completed a Bachelor of Health Sciences - Workplace Health and Wellness with Honors, achieving an outstanding GPA of 4.0 at Humber College.
