A bilingual Indigenous veteran, Paul Broadbent is a dynamic and motivated individual who has been involved in a wide range of technical activities for many years, primarily as an analyst - his area of activity over the past 15 years has been analysis and development of Departmental-level government policy, particularly in the performance improvement and compliance arenas, generally within a cyber security context. Paul's main interest is in the interface between development of policy and its implementation in the civilian and military operational environments. He has significant experience of monitoring and advising management and operational teams on compliance with various security, personal data, and privacy legislation and regulations. He holds a current Government of Canada security clearance, and has previously held various security clearances in the United Kingdom.
