About
Hello,
I have, in the past, frequently provided significant attention to details regarding documentation, providing, utilizing, and administering SharePoint, along with Microsoft 365, for the purposes of organization wide, and project, documentation.
I have, also, supported infrastructure, providing documentation, and infrastructure monitoring, utilizing a variety of solutions; Cron jobs in Linux-based OSes; Issuing e-mails or other notifications, as well as through M/Monit, such that problems and issues could be reviewed via a web-gui application, and actioned appropriately.
I am also familiar with a wide variety of virtualization solutions, from VMWare’s ESXI solution, to ProxMox servers & Hyper-V, along with many client softwares; VirtualBox, Hyper-V, KVM, VMWare Fusion, and I became a local expert on Docker, during my time at inBay Technologies; Where-in I authored a number of Dockerfiles for local containers, including Atlassian’s Jira and Confluence solutions, available here. I am also familiar with configuration of various client services, such as virtualized networking, and networking in general, provided through my CCNA & CCNP training, provided during studies at Carleton University’s and Algonquin College’s Network Engineering program.
In my position at inBay Technologies, I also managed and maintained various Dell blade servers, and made a number of recommendations, notably for the design, automation and utilization of Docker servers to provide more resource efficient appliances, for internal use (provided above).
I also frequently audited resources being consumed on said servers, such that resources could be modified, to improve performance, utilizing Docker via CLI as well as ESXI to reduce resource consumption.
I am familiar with utilization of global and/or cloud resources via SSH & CLI as well as the utilization of certificates for both authentication, and identification of web resources.
One of my primary responsibilities, previously at inBay Technologies, was management, and maintenance, including updates for OS, kernel, and applications and well being of Linux servers, having maintained, CentOS, Ubuntu, Alpine, Fedora, Debian servers and a little Unix, and have training with a variety of others, provided through my studies at Algonquin College, including patching, updating and generalized server-administration.
I operated as the owner of our ESXI servers, as well as our servers and application’s builds, both Windows; through Microsoft Server’s Group Policy Objects and Linux; Through automation via Ansible; Which I retained a GIT repository to maintain an active library of server builds, and operational configuration deliveries.
~ Additionally I also managed a Veeam Backup and Replication server that could implement a base OS for all of our servers if/when necessary to rapidly implement new servers, and also to backup live servers; Both Linux and Windows.
One note I will make is that, with my DevOps experience, I enjoy operating in a rapidly re-creatable environment, such that all servers and applications can be rapidly delivered, or redelivered via automated means.
I have managed a large gamut of services and applications, and look forward to learning more.
My capacities with various programming languages, scripting, and automation experience provide practical & implementational knowledge for Systems Administration, and provide capacities for automation, and utilization of applications, scripts & servers. My experience with Ansible to automate delivery of various environments (including Linux, and Microsoft servers, can also be quite valuable. I am also cleared at Secret level with the Canadian Government.
