Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Healthcare Compliance Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our healthcare organization adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role involves overseeing compliance programs, conducting audits, and providing guidance to staff on compliance-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Compliance Program Management: Develop, implement, and manage compliance programs and policies to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and other healthcare-related standards.
- Audit and Monitoring: Conduct regular audits and assessments of organizational practices, procedures, and documentation to identify potential compliance issues and areas for improvement.
- Training and Education: Design and deliver training programs for employees on compliance topics, including privacy and security, billing practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Investigations and Reporting: Investigate and resolve compliance concerns, allegations, and incidents. Prepare detailed reports and documentation on findings and corrective actions.
- Regulatory Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and ensure timely and accurate submission of required documentation and reports.
- Policy Development: Develop and update policies and procedures to reflect changes in regulations and industry standards.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess compliance risks and recommend strategies to mitigate potential issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to continually enhance the compliance program.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Law, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CHC, CCEP) is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in healthcare compliance, risk management, or a related field. Experience in a managerial role is a plus.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices. Proficiency in interpreting and applying federal and state laws.
- Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Certifications: Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or a similar credential is highly desirable.
