General Company & Role Description
Client is a global leader in the manufacturing and wholesale distribution of ingredients and raw materials. They supply and serve a number of industries - namely food, beverage, animal feed, agricultural, oil & gas, and chemical. Client is seeking a Director of Business Development to drive revenue growth and advance strategic initiatives with principals and stakeholders.
Compensation/Benefits: - will be dependent on experience & potential of the candidate. Acceptable experience and background would start at $ 150,000 base with commission % tied to net profit. A more experienced candidate might carry a higher base & commission %. Client will offer comprehensive health insurance , paid time off, and company contribution retirement plan.
Skills/Qualifications/Competencies:
- Corp office presence 5 days per week in Morris County, NJ.
- 5 Years minimum related industry knowledge & experience.
- Instinctively driven and motivated to serve, overcome challenges, and solve problems.
- Extremely strong verbal & written communication skills. Authentic & effective at presentation and storytelling.
- Able to excel within a small company work environment & culture.
- Must have and exhibit thought leadership in our core industries served.
- CRM expert - disciplined at succinct reporting/record keeping, requisite action, and follow up.
- Able to travel approx 25 % of the year.
Core Responsibilities/Role:
- Develop & execute communication and relationship building strategies for our products and services.
- Identify and develop opportunities for growth at existing accounts.
- Lead, develop and execute sales performance-based strategies to acquire new customers.
- At key accounts promote and support R&D on new product development.
- Build, promote, and strengthen relationships with customers and principals.
- Research, identify, and secure distribution exclusivities from prospective principals.
- Professionally represent and promote all 4 segments of our company at select trade shows.
- Define individual revenue and profitability performance markers and conduct/present quarterly to management with results tracking analysis.
