Title: Chief Information Officer
Location: Kitchener, ON or Ingersoll, ON

Salary Range: $170,000 - $210,000
Our steel-based manufacturing client is seeking a dynamic Chief Information Officer (CIO) to oversee all aspects of the company’s information technology systems. This executive-level role requires a strategic leader with exceptional technical expertise and strong business acumen. The CIO will collaborate with senior executives to ensure technology aligns with and supports the company’s business objectives.
Education/Designations
Mandatory Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CIO, PMP, ITIL) preferred.
Industry Experience
- Proven experience in manufacturing.
Government Experience
- Experience with Canadian and US government.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive IT experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Technical Proficiency
- Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.
- Experience handling a cyber attack and familiarity with CMMC.
Strategic Acumen
- Ability to develop and execute IT strategies that drive business value.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic IT Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy that aligns with the company’s business goals.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives to improve efficiency, enhance customer experience, and support business growth.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for technology investments.
IT Operations Management
- Oversee the management of IT infrastructure, systems, and applications to ensure reliability, security, and scalability.
- Ensure effective and efficient delivery of IT services across the organization.
- Develop and enforce IT policies, standards, and procedures.
Team Leadership And Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the IT department.
- Manage the IT department budget and resource allocation.
Security And Compliance
- Ensure the organization’s IT systems and data are secure and compliant with relevant regulations and standards.
- Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.
- Oversee disaster recovery planning and business continuity initiatives.
Performance Metrics And Reporting
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of IT operations.
- Provide regular reports to the executive team on IT performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Continuously assess and improve IT processes and systems.
Vendor Management
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and manage vendor relationships.
