Job Profile
Reporting to the Manager of Service & Infrastructure, the Coordinator of IT Infrastructure/Cybersecuritysupports innovation and continuous improvement of city services and processes through well-designed data and technologies.
The Coordinator Leads a High-performing Team To Enable Effective Cybersecurity For The Organization With a Quality Computing Environment Comprised Of Various Cloud, Third-party Hosted, And On-premise Infrastructure Services And Associated Environments Which May Include
- Security Strategy and Policies:
- Assist with policies, strategies, and standards for information security within the City. Coordinate policies and/
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Assist and participate in risk assessment activities.
- Implement systems, processes, and procedures to address information security risk and vulnerabilities. Implement the strategies for risk prevention and mitigation.
- Security Control Implementation:
- Design, implement, monitor, and maintain security systems that align with policies, strategies, and standards.
- Security Design and Review:
- security design and review activities to ensure that technologies implemented have adequate security considerations and protections in place.
- Manage and lead security incident detection and identification activities
- Incident Response:
- Manage and lead security incident detection, identification, and response activities with the security incident detection and response team.
The coordinator organizes, controls, leads and coordinates the design, contract administration and acquisition, provision, support and evergreening of security services.
The coordinator supports the divisional manager with strategic planning, financial management, and vendor relationship management for the division.
The coordinator actively collaborates with peers supporting cybersecurity and information security throughout the organization.
CISSP, CISM, CISA, SANS, or equivalent information security certifications would be considered an asset.
As The Coordinator Of IT Infrastructure/Cybersecurity, You Will
- Contribute to strategic and financial planning for the division.
- Lead and develop high performing teams and people.
- Ensure the team has current processes and procedures to perform their roles
- Manage provision and support of security services.
- Manage client relationships.
- Safeguards information system assets by identifying and solving security problems
- Protect systems by defining access privileges, control structures, and resources.
- Recognizes problems by identifying abnormalities; reporting violations.
- Implements security improvements by assessing current situation; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
- Determine security violations and inefficiencies by conducting audits.
- Upgrades systems by implementing and maintaining security controls.
- Provide performance reports; communicating system status.
- Maintains quality service by following organization IT standards.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications.
- Be required for on-call work.
Your Education And Qualifications Include
- Bachelor’s Degree in management, business, or technology-focused discipline or equivalent education and experience.
- 6 years of progressive experience in innovation or technology roles.
- Experience managing client relationships.
- Experience leading, coaching, providing feedback, delegating, recruiting, and developing people.
- Experience negotiating and influencing impact decisions, solving problems and advance opportunities.
- Experience with project management and change management methods, practices and procedures.
- Financial management experience including financial planning, budgeting and financial monitoring is desired.
- Comprehensive knowledge of infrastructure service delivery.
- Knowledge of modern information technology industry, trends, and applications.
- Excellent written communication skills including the ability to write politically sensitive and confidential material for senior level staff.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain staff morale, foster, develop and maintain effective and positive working relationships with teams, partnerships and alliances.
- Ability to create and promote a healthy and inclusive workplace culture.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to be flexible and responsive to changing priorities and circumstances as well as the ability to work on diverse projects simultaneously.
