Role Description The Cloud Data Infrastructure Engineer is a full-time remote role responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable cloud data infrastructure to support Rockland Tech Hub’s products and client projects. This role includes building and managing cloud environments, configuring storage and compute resources, and ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability. The engineer will monitor systems, diagnose issues, perform root-cause analysis, and optimize infrastructure for cost and efficiency. Day-to-day tasks involve collaborating with development and operations teams, implementing security best practices, automating deployments, maintaining documentation, and supporting incident response and change management activities.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Infrastructure skills, including experience with cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP), virtualization, and scalable storage and compute services.
- Candidates should possess System Administration skills, covering operating system management (Linux/Unix/Windows), configuration management, monitoring, and backup/recovery processes.
- Candidates should possess Networking skills, including knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, routing, load balancing, and VPC or similar virtual networking concepts.
- Candidates should possess Network Security skills, with experience implementing firewalls, encryption, access control, identity and access management, and compliance best practices.
- Candidates should possess Troubleshooting skills, including performance analysis, log review, incident resolution, and proactive problem prevention.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and automation/scripting (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, ability to work collaboratively in remote teams, and commitment to documentation and continuous learning are expected.
