Summary
A cybersecurity and vulnerability analyst is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating cyber threats and vulnerabilities that affect the organization's information systems and assets. The analyst also performs security audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews to ensure that the organization follows the best practices and standards for cybersecurity. Additionally, the analyst is involved in incident prevention and incident response activities to protect the organization from cyberattacks and minimize the damage and recovery time.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player who can proactively visualize risk areas and collaborate with a team of security and technology professionals to ensure organizational goals are met in budget and on time; a collaborating partner who is believes in teamwork.
Responsibilities
· Monitor and analyze the organization's network and systems for potential security breaches, intrusions, or incidents.
· Conduct vulnerability scans, penetration tests, and security assessments to identify and evaluate the risks and impacts of cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
· Research and stay updated on the latest cyber threats, attack vectors, and mitigation techniques.
· Develop and implement security solutions, policies, and procedures to prevent, detect, and respond to cyberattacks.
· Collaborate with other security teams, IT staff, and management to communicate and report on the security status and issues of the organization.
· Provide training and guidance to staff and users on cybersecurity awareness and best practices.
· Recommend and implement security enhancements and upgrades to improve the organization's security posture and resilience.
· Participate in incident prevention and incident response activities, such as threat hunting, threat intelligence, incident analysis, incident containment, incident eradication, and incident recovery.
· Document and maintain records of security incidents, findings, and recommendations.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
· At least two years of experience in cybersecurity, vulnerability analysis, or related role.
· Knowledge and skills in network and system security, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and security incident response.
· Familiarity with security tools, frameworks, and standards, such as NIST, ISO, OWASP, etc.
· Familiarity with cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc., and their security implications and best practices.
· Certifications in cybersecurity, such as CISSP, CEH, OSCP, etc., are preferred.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
· Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
