Role Description Day-to-day responsibilities include configuring network devices, monitoring performance, diagnosing and resolving complex network issues, and ensuring high availability and reliability of network services. The Senior Network Engineer will collaborate with cybersecurity, IT consulting, and development teams to integrate network security best practices, support incident response, and participate in capacity planning and architecture reviews. The role also involves documenting network configurations, creating runbooks, and advising stakeholders on improvements, upgrades, and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Network Engineering and Network Design, including experience with routing, switching, WAN/LAN, VPNs, and high-availability architectures.
- Proficiency in Network Administration, including configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless technologies.
- Advanced Network Security and Troubleshooting skills, with experience in securing networks, diagnosing complex issues, and performing root-cause analysis.
- Experience integrating network solutions with cybersecurity frameworks and best practices, including access control, intrusion detection/prevention, and segmentation.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent experience are strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, QoS, and network performance optimization.
- Experience in hybrid and cloud-connected environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, or other cloud platforms) is an asset.
- Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
