Student - Cyber Security

Temporary Full-Time position (approximately 4 months)

The Co-op Student, Cyber Security Will Be Involved In Supporting The Operations Of The Mackenzie Health’s Cyber Security Program And Its Framework. Students May Be Asked To Support a Variety Of Tasks, Including But Not Limited To

  • Participating in collaboration with internal stakeholders to support cyber security policy, procedure and controls to align with industry standards and practices.
  • Following the industry trend, conducting research on potential threats, risks and vulnerabilities within the IT environment.
  • Assisting with the development of presentations or other materials.
  • Supporting other project, departmental, or organizational activities as appropriate.
  • Documenting current processes and providing future state updates.

What must you have?

  • Must be enrolled in a co-op program.
  • Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on Information Security/Cybersecurity.

What else do you bring?

  • Knowledge of Security Operations Center, SIEM, TRA and penetration testing
  • Knowledge of information security framework and standards such as NIST, ISO27001.
  • Knowledge of Endpoint Protection, Firewall, IDP/IDS, cloud security.
  • Knowledge of with LogRhythm or other SIEM products.
  • Knowledge of enterprise firewall and VPN remote access technologies.
  • Knowledge of Network Configuration Management (NCM) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow Incident and Change management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio/Power Point/Word/Excel etc. for network diagram, presentation, and technical support document.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to learn and master new technology quickly and improve personal performance through continual self-study.
  • Flexibility with respect with work hours; may be required to work after-hours and at all sites of Mackenzie Health.
  • Proven attendance record.
  • Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
  • Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others.
