We are ready to take this game to the next level and need a passionate Director Technology Governance to lead Technology Governance, including strategic alignment, value delivery, performance management, and Risk governance. Responsible for leading and developing OLG IT Governance practice, optimizing and modernizing OLG IT governance practices including its IT governance framework, structures, systems, and processes. This ensures IT investments are aligned with business strategy and creating business value. The Technology Governance role is a catalyst for continuous process improvement, balancing regulatory compliance with creativity and agility..

YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME

Reporting to the VP Technology Planning & Architecture, you will be empowered to:

  • Develops, implements, and monitors compliance of Technology Governance processes, policies, and standards that guide the collection, management, manipulation, retrieval/publishing, and retention of OLG technology assets to meet business, legal, regulatory, and operational requirements
  • Oversees and drives the development of OLG’s Technology Governance strategy and framework to ensure a consistent approach to technology management in alignment with Enterprise Architecture
  • Ensures OLG’s Technology Governance framework is operationalized, and governance committees implement the supports for Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, Infrastructure & Cloud Operations, and Delivery Enablement teams in technology policy management and standards. This is to mitigate risk and ensure compliance across EIT with evolving regulatory standards and best practices
  • Advises the Technology product and project delivery teams on the application of technology management standards and policies
  • Collaborates with senior leadership and key subject matter experts across OLG to define governance transformation goals and objectives
  • Develop and implement strategies to transform and modernize OLG’s processes including (i.e., SDLC framework) critically examining and improving existing system development lifecycles
  • Collaborates with cross-functional delivery teams to facilitate change management initiatives associated with governance transformation and to adopt target state governance practices, procedures, and tools
  • Works collaboratively with stakeholders in technology and business functions to clarify scope, goals, and deliverables and ensure committees receive timely and relevant information related to strategic priorities, key risks, and issues
  • Be the driving force behind shifts in documentation processes and metrics towards agile ways of working, ensuring that necessary compliance and checks are maintained in the streamlined set-up
  • Continually evaluates and evolves technology governance framework, protocols, and processes. Introduces changes and improvements as necessary to stay ahead of a continuously evolving technology landscape
  • Evangelizes the importance of process excellence. Trains and empowers team members to embrace change and contribute to our collective success


What You Need To Play

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in progressively advancing roles within IT or related function
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience of relevant Information Management experience
  • Minimum four (4) years’ or more experience in managing teams, either in a managerial or supervisory role


Education:

  • Post-secondary degree, preferably in an information system, business administration and/or project management discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge in building, implementing and managing an effective data/information governance framework
  • Knowledge of an organization's existing and planned Information Architecture and Information Management (IM) methodology; ability to collect and manage information from different sources and distributes this information to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Knowledge of tools and techniques of data governance and the ability to develop and maintain an organization's data to meet business requirements.
  • Knowledge around System and Technology Integration, Middleware, Data Administration, Data Warehousing, Data Movement / Repository Tools, Database Structures, Query & Database Access Tools, Object Relational Database Systems (ORDMS), Big Data Management and Analytics, Document/Content Management etc.
