Cybersecurity Analyst
Overall Purpose
The purpose of the Cybersecurity Analyst is to support the Information and Technology Services Department as well as the school system by managing and maintaining currently established security practices, as well as implementing new practices as industry standards change.
Essential Functions
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects.
Education/Training
Bachelor’s degree preferred;
Associate degree and related worked experience
Security+ certification preferred

The purpose of the Cybersecurity Analyst is to support the Information and Technology Services Department as well as the school system by managing and maintaining currently established security practices, as well as implementing new practices as industry standards change.
Essential Functions
- Manages all network systems to ensure cybersecurity best practices, including but not limited to: patch management, SQL servers, email, VPN, desktop and server OS updates, EDR, Office 365 and Google environment
- Analyzing all incoming information from vendor resources in regard to cybersecurity monitoring
- Reviews daily SIEM hardware logs, including but not limited to servers, firewall, switches, AD, and network shares; as well as relevant software logs for any anomalies, reported or otherwise
- Work with other Technology team members as needed to implement sound security practices
- Prepare and maintain the systems Cybersecurity Plan, Incident Response Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan
- Work with other District personnel to implement sound security practices
- Lead any response by system to potential cybersecurity incidents
- Respond to reported cybersecurity anomalies or incidents on nights and/or weekends
- Performs all other duties as assigned
