As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented and motivated Cloud Engineer to join Sopra Steria's Cybersecurity division (I2S), in our downtown Toronto office located in Financial District, reporting to the Senior Cloud Security Architect. We are looking for a highly skilled Cloud Engineer who is passionate about designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions. In this role, you will work closely with our clients to assess their specific needs and design secure and efficient cloud-based systems. You will also be responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of cloud environments, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.

Sopra Steria Infrastructure & Security Services (I2S) is a subsidiary of Sopra Steria dedicated to infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity activities. It plays a key role in Sopra Steria's end-to-end services. With 3,000 employees, Sopra Steria I2S stands out for the flexibility of its delivery model, combining client proximity from our 8 agencies with the advanced industrial capabilities of our offshore service centers.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements and design cloud solutions that align with their objectives
  • Develop architecture plans that consider scalability, security, and cost optimization
  • Deploy, configure, and manage cloud infrastructure and services across various cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Implement security best practices to protect data and applications in the cloud. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) and conduct regular security assessments
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) scripts to automate provisioning and management tasks
  • Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure the availability and performance of cloud resources
  • Continuously optimize infrastructure for cost-efficiency
  • Design and implement backup and disaster recovery solutions to protect against data loss and system downtime
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud infrastructure, configurations, and procedures, and share knowledge with team members and clients
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including cybersecurity experts, to ensure that cloud environments are secure and aligned with company policies


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role
  • Certification in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator) is a plus
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and cloud service providers
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Organized with a proven ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and utilize time effectively in a challenging environment to drumbeat the activity
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and listening skills
  • Previous work in a multicultural environment
  • English required / French is a plus
