Senior Security Software Engineer/Architect – up to $250,000 Salary

Work closely with the CISO and build security from the ground up, using your combination of security and software experiences.

You’re going to be coming into a Series A start-up where you’ll be a hands-on engineer, architecting all kinds of initial security solutions to protect the cloud-based product/s. As the first hands-on security engineer you’ll play a huge part in the future of the business, working closely with the CISO on the future security strategy of the business.

From day one, you’ll be able to dive right into solving problems and you’ll be encouraged to do so. What is most important to do? What can wait a few months? What needed to be done yesterday? Answering these questions and putting in place a roadmap will be your first task, before building them into production.

You’re also going to be working closely with other engineers to understand the security aspects of their code, making sure they’re building everything with security in mind and ensuring that everything done within engineering follows the overall security strategy, that’s another reason you’ll need such a strong software background too. Documentation will also be key at this early stage.

In terms of your experience, you’ll need to have a strong cloud security engineering background. This means you’ll need to have extremely strong knowledge of all kinds of cloud security principles, specifically GCP, and you’ll also need to have a strong software engineering background. Go, C++ and/or JavaScript would be preferred, rather than Python.

This is a start-up with a typical start-up environment. You’ll need to be happy wearing multiple hats and dealing with the somewhat chaotic nature of a growing start-up where you’ll be building things from the ground-up. It’s a very hands-on role and you’ll constantly see the impact of your work.
