We are partnering with a growing health-technology organization to find an experienced, strategic Director, Cloud & Managed Services.
This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for someone who thrives at the intersection of cloud operations, platform engineering, automation, and customer delivery. You will lead multidisciplinary technical teams, shape a cloud-native strategy, and help scale secure, reliable services that make a meaningful difference in healthcare.
While this is a fully remote role, candidates must be based in the GTA and available for occasional in-person leadership and team meetings in Toronto.
What you’ll lead
- Build, lead, and develop scalable Cloud and Managed Services, platform engineering, DevOps, and deployment automation teams.
- Define and deliver the roadmap for cloud infrastructure, deployment automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, GitOps, and platform reliability.
- Ensure high availability, security, scalability, and operational readiness across SaaS, managed-service, and customer-managed environments.
- Drive standardization and automation to improve delivery consistency, reduce manual effort, and enhance the customer experience.
- Partner with Engineering, Product, Professional Services, Security, Client Success, and senior leadership on strategy, priorities, and service delivery.
- Lead incident and problem-resolution efforts, continuous improvement initiatives, governance, and operational maturity.
- Build trusted relationships with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders, including participation in strategic pre-sales and service discussions.
- Manage planning, budgets, resource allocation, service commitments, and evolving business priorities.
What you bring
- Proven Director-level—or higher—leadership experience; this is not a first-time Director opportunity.
- HealthTech experience and a strong understanding of healthcare customers, market dynamics, and cloud-services needs.
- 7+ years of senior cloud operations, managed services, or IT leadership experience in complex technology environments.
- Experience leading cloud and technical teams, particularly teams working extensively with Kubernetes.
- Strong multi-cloud expertise, including AWS and Azure.
- Deep experience with platform engineering, DevOps, automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, release automation, and deployment standardization.
- A track record of developing leaders and scaling cloud operations or managed-services capabilities with a strong customer focus.
- Knowledge of ITSM, networking, cybersecurity, enterprise support, observability, and security-by-design practices.
- Experience with healthcare-relevant security and compliance frameworks such as ITIL, HITRUST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2 is highly valued.
- Strong executive communication, stakeholder-management, and client-facing skills.
- Experience leading primarily North American-based technical teams is preferred.
A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered. Relevant certifications such as CISM, CCSP, CISSP, ITIL, or TOGAF are assets.
If you are a seasoned cloud leader ready to shape the next phase of a growing health-tech organization’s managed-services and platform capabilities, we would welcome a confidential conversation.
