Work environment

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to fill seven (7) indeterminate positions with the Corporate Secretary in Ottawa, Ontario. These positions are currently hybrid. Some in office presence will be required at 60 Moodie Drive, Ottawa ON.

As a result of this process, a pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various employment tenures, language profiles, security requirements and conditions of employment.

ED1. A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.

Note

  • The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
  • A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
  • An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience is defined least three (3) years’ experience working in the ATIP field. Level of autonomy must be demonstrated.

Degree equivalency

EX1. Experience in the interpretation and application of the Access to Information Act or the Privacy Act, and related policy instruments as an ATIP Analyst.

EX2. Experience in researching, analyzing and reviewing files for the purpose of making recommendations on the application of legislation and related policies on files.

EX3. Experience consulting and negotiating with applicants, Other Government Departments (OGD), third parties or internal partners.

EX4. Experience working on and resolving formal investigations received from the Office of the Information Commissioner or Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

AED1. Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.

Degree equivalency

AEX1. Experience in the use of ATIP-related software such as AccessPro Case Management and AccessPro Redaction.

AEX2. Experience providing advisory services relating to s. 4-8 of the Privacy Act; including, guidance relating to section 8(2) disclosures of personal information, developing privacy notices, interpreting, and updating Personal Information Banks, review of Information Sharing Agreements and third-party contracts.

AEX3. Experience engaging with departmental programs to manage and resolve Privacy Breaches or undertake Privacy Impact Assessments and privacy protocols.

ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS

As a result of workforce adjustment, affected indeterminate DND employees within the Aerospace Engineering Test Establishment (AETE - UIC 2671) at 4 Wing Cold Lake or within the British Army Training Unit Suffield (BATUS – UIC 7777) at Canadian Forces Base Suffield will be appointed or deployed to positions for which they are qualified ahead of other candidates.
