Our Federal Government client is urgently seeking a dedicated and experienced an IT Security Threat and Risk Assessment (TRA) and Certification and Accreditation (C&A) Analyst - Level 3 to join our team on a full-time contract basis. This critical role is centered around the development, planning, analysis, and evaluation of security requirements in collaboration with project teams and authorities. The contract will start immediately and extend until October 31, 2024, with the work being carried out off-site.

Responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive security programs by providing guidance, consultation, and advice on security controls, policies, and standards.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, strategies, and procedures for security programs, including cyber security design reviews and assessments against standards and best practices.
  • Create communication materials and protocols for efficient collection and dissemination of cyber security information, and conduct security awareness education.
  • Provide leadership in cyber security risk assessments and business continuity planning for mission-critical projects.
  • Prepare research, evaluation, and statistical reports to support client management and cyber security initiatives.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Experience: Must have a minimum of 90 months experience within the last 120 months in IT Security Threat and Risk Assessment (TRA) and Certification and Accreditation (C&A) Analyst roles, with a minimum of 36 months completing Security Assessment Reports (SAR) and/or TRAs using CSEC Harmonized TRA Methodology (TRA-1) and ITSG-33.
  • Education: A university degree or post-secondary diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering fields is preferred. Certifications recognized by Canadian academic credentials assessment services if obtained outside of Canada.
  • Certifications: Holding one or more valid certifications such as CCSP, CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, CCFP, SSCP, ISSAP, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Cloud+, CompTIA CySA+, CWSP, GIAC, SABSA SCF or higher is necessary. Certifications contribute to the total points achievable, with a requirement to reach 105 points for qualification.
  • Project Experience: Must have completed SOS and TSR-P's on a minimum of 2 projects.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and oral communication abilities to prepare and present reports, business cases, and policy documents.
  • Consultation Skills: Ability to consult with internal staff and stakeholders on security practices and options.
  • Analytical Skills: Skilled in evaluating incident management scenarios, operational policy requirements, and conducting security reviews with an ability to provide risk assessments and management options.
  • Team Leadership: Capable of leading project teams and eliciting support for new initiatives across various levels of the organization.
